After taking 8 weeks off from running to rehabilitate a knee injury I sustained earlier in the year, both Bob and I started running again at the beginning of July. Obviously we started slow and short and I'm up to running 2 miles, and Bob did a 5k last week. To keep Pixel in tip top shape we've been taking him out on our runs too. He doesn't have a great attention span, and I've fallen over him once already but he loves being with us, and loves to run so today I'm sharing some tips on …

Recipe: Doggy Bone Cakes
Ok if you're expecting health and fitness stuff today, close the blog now and come back tomorrow. Today is all about the light of my life, my furry child, Pixel our 4 year old Dalmatian. If you're a regular blog reader you'll know I'm one of those type A controlling people and as such I bake for my dog. Yep I've baked for Sky, River and now Pixel. I've posted previous dog cookie recipes on my blog which you can find on my recipes page (seriously needs updating, which is on my 'to-do list"). …
NeeBoo Fit Resistance Bands Review
Confession time: Sometimes I struggle to get my own workouts in (aside from classes). This week has been one of those weeks. I've taught a few extra classes this week and I'm pooped out. This is one of the reasons I encourage the 10-20 minute workouts. While you may not have time or energy, you can do anything for 10 minutes, and it all helps! One of the things I've been doing is more mobility work, and work for my glutes. This is one reason I was happy to review these resistance bands by NeeBoo …
20 minute interval workout strength, cardio, & power
Ok firstly apologies for not posting since Sunday! I actually thought I'd scheduled a post to go out Monday, turns out I didn't lol. I swear I'm getting ditzy in my old age ;) Anyway today is WORKOUT WEDNESDAY! For me it was done on Tuesday in an attempt to get ahead but didn't get chance to edit it yesterday as I had to head out and teach Cxworx and spin class. This one was tough for me as I had 2 little assistants, hopefully YOUR workout will go smoother. If you watch the video you'll see …

Lake Casitas RV trip Recap
As I mentioned last Thursday we went to Lake Casitas for an extended weekend trip. We hadn't used the RV for a while and decided it was time to get away and use the driveway ornament ;) The day started as usual with a walk for the spotty monsters. I took them out for a 45 minute walk before it got too warm while Bob started prepping things for the trip. In all it took us 6 hours to get the RV prepped. Just one disaster after another! We should have spent some time the previous weekend …
Recipe: Beer grain dog biscuits
In May 2013 Bob started making his own beer at home. What started as a little project costing $150 turned into a whole hobby for him. He's brewed a few batches in 2013 and bought lots more equipment and one major change he made recently was going from using grain and syrup to using 'all-grain'. This basically means we have a TON of spent grain from making beer to dispose of. As we're not people that throw things away lightly Bob mentioned some people use it make dog cookies and I …
Birthday 2013 recap – vegan at Disneyland
Ok so since I last posted we've had birthday fun at Disneyland so I figured I should update with pics and details from that day. First up obviously the day started as most birthdays do with cards and presents. Bob and I don't really 'do' birthdays or christmas. We get stuff when we need it, but he did get me this tea pack from work. I've been big into herbal teas lately so it was nice to see he noticed :) It's the Mad Hatters Unbirthday tea! Funny little quips too. Very fun! After …
Disneyland Kennel Club Review
Recently, we arranged to take our Australian relatives to Disneyland. Michael was over for his honeymoon with his wife Jenna. However, we had a Disneyland dilemma. We'd only had our newly adopted dog, Pixel, a few weeks. As such we couldn't leave him at home for 8+ hours with no potty breaks, no walks, and no food. Plus, I did not like the idea of leaving him in his crate for that long. So we decided to try out the Disneyland Kennel Club. If, things turned out to be a nightmare. We …
Recipe: Dog Pumpkin & Peanut cookies!
So we have a new dog in our lives and I'm doing my damnedest to make sure he's as healthy as can be which means making my own dog cookies. I do this because frankly I'm sick of the dog good recalls and all the dogs getting sick from these ingredients and cookies from China. The ONLY way to ensure your dog isn't a victim of this is to make your own!!! So I do :) I don't have time either, I make time! Really it only takes 20 mins prep (less if you're not using a bone cutter and don't care about …
